The Public Works Department (PWD) serves as the principal statutory authority tasked with the management and maintenance of the major road network, bridges, culverts, public buildings, and various road transport infrastructure assets under the jurisdiction of the Government of Kerala.

PWD 4U represents a strategic digital initiative by the Government of Kerala aimed at enhancing citizen engagement in reporting defects or issues related to the road infrastructure managed by the PWD. This platform seeks to expedite PWD's response time to maintenance concerns, ultimately fostering a road network characterized by high riding quality and minimal defects.

The application allows users to conveniently submit locations and photographs of road defects directly to the relevant authorities. Each complaint is geotagged, ensuring that it is efficiently routed to the PWD for prompt action. Additionally, users can track the status of their complaints until resolution, promoting transparency and accountability in the maintenance process.
